Ben Cline voted against protecting animals from abuse

Ben Cline was the only Virginia congressional representatives to vote against the Prevent All Soring Tactics (PAST) Act, H.R. 693.

From the bill summary "This bill addresses the practice of soring horses. The soring of horses includes various actions taken on horses' limbs to produce higher gaits that may cause pain, distress, inflammation, or lameness."

Per the first article listed below, "Soring, the intentional infliction of pain to horses' front limbs by applying caustic chemicals such as mustard oil or kerosene or inserting sharp objects into the horses' hooves to create an exaggerated gait known as the "Big Lick,” has plagued the equine world for six decades."

Warning - the first article is excellent but has some photos that may be upsetting.

I cannot imagine the rationale behind Cline's decision to vote against this bill.

Cline votes against protections for animals and people, what does he care about ?
