Our Trump Medicare Bribe
I found an unexpected $90 in our online bank statement.
It must be my wife’s Trump Medicare Bribe, because POTUS sent her a nice letter. My $90
has not arrived.
No other president has offered a bribe for our votes, not even Tricky Dick Nixon. What can
we do with this windfall?
Our $90 goes to our Democratic congressional candidate, Beth Macy. Yours could also.
Let’s compare our bribe with corporate donations to MAGA Congressman Ben Cline.
Google gave $2000 to Cline’s campaign. A $90 bribe is 4.5 percent of Google’s donation.
Google’s contribution could bribe 22.2 voters. Ben’s vote is cheap.
Ben claims he favors a moratorium on data center construction. Yet he spent a recent
weekend in California, meeting with representatives of Google and other tech companies.
Google is now building a data center in Cline’s home of Botetourt County. This could not
happen without the congressman’s blessing.
It is disgraceful that Botetourt’s Board of Supervisors has a nondisclosure agreement with
Google. How can voters know whether the Board is acting in their best interests? Where is
the transparency in government? Democratic Governor Spanberger has prohibited state
agencies from entering into NDAs.
Cline says he favors “local control” of data centers. That is code for the Republican “divide
and conquer” strategy, and will lead to conflicting rules ripe for exploitation. Regulating data centers is a nationwide issue that calls for uniform standards everywhere.
Cline is a partner in Trump’s corruption. Democrats will work for us.
